A neighborhood favorite I come back to often. Two comfy couches and a few less comfortable tables — it's primarily a coffee spot, not built for laptop marathons, but the couches work well for a few hours. There's also a small terrace right on the street if you want fresh air. Coffee is excellent, frappés are great (the Milo frappé is a hit if you bring kids). Internet is solid, AC is good, service is genuinely great. Quietish in the mornings and afternoons.

A family favorite. Quaint, colorful, walls covered in local art. Serves breakfast through to late night, hosts events, plays great music. The fastest WiFi measured on this site so far — 531 down / 386 up. Tables are just big enough to work on and it's genuinely quiet in the morning. Stick around all day and you'll probably end up talking to someone — this is a place where work has a way of turning into conversation, and conversation into a small party. AC is good, a few outlets available, but it gets lively past the morning.

One of Cartagena's most iconic café locations — Plaza Santo Domingo, next to Botero's famous reclining figure, across from the church and the Spanish Cultural Centre. The coffee is genuinely excellent, among the best in the city. The WiFi is not — 3 down / 1 up when tested, and this isn't a one-off. Come here for the atmosphere and a great espresso. Bring your own hotspot if you need to work.
